Description: Housed primarily in the jewelry studio within the School of Art, Visual Arts Building the UTRGV FABLAB aims to make technology both physically and intellectually accessible for educators, students, and citizens of the Rio Grande Valley. Applied activities will foster education, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the region, benefiting from, and contributing to the larger DIY “maker movement.” Due to our location within the visual arts we focus on interdisciplinary projects involving collaboration between STEAM areas which are historically separate, such as the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the School of Medicine, and the School of Art.
